SEGA said it debuted a VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS promotional video at Summer Game Fest 2026 in Los Angeles.
Its English release identifies the name as the official title of New Virtua Fighter Project and calls it the next mainline Virtua Fighter entry.
Before this announcement, official materials used New VIRTUA FIGHTER Project; although Crossroads had appeared in a May leak, SEGA had not confirmed it.
The June trailer and portal notice changed Crossroads from a reported leaked label into the name of the actual product.

SEGA uses that term for a game intended to unite story and combat beyond the boundaries of a traditional fighting game.
The announcement also confirms the fictional Southeast Asian city of Vilasapara as the setting.
